Lost and Found

We have placed all of the "lost" jackets on the benches and tabletop of the first table in the APR.

Please encourage your children to look for their missing jackets during the lunch periods this week.

If they are not claimed shortly, we will be donating them to the Red Cross.

A gentle reminder as well - please put your child's name in the jackets and on their water bottles.

Referendum

Why Do Our Elementary Schools Need More Space?

Bond-funded projects qualify for state aid at different levels depending on the project and the school district’s need. To get aid for building new rooms, as MTPS proposes, the district has to show that it has a space shortage.

The state Department of Education uses the term "unhoused students” to describe that situation, leaning on a mathematical calculation of the number of students compared to the square footage of space that is useful for instruction. Every one of Montville Township’s public elementary schools meet the “unhoused students” test. In 2023-24, the space shortage is quantified at over 100 students; by 2027-28 that shortage is projected to be 410 students.

Because of current conditions, MTPS qualified for more state aid than districts that don’t face crowded conditions.

Find more details about how MTPS proposes to solve the need for space at www.montville.net/referendum.
